Albert Heijn

Albert Heijn is the biggest supermarket in the Netherlands. Next to all its stores and daughter enterprises, it has websites to maintain for all its businesses. These websites are filled with all kinds of information about the products they offer and the services that surround them. In developing their new CMS for these websites it became clear that the old system was incredibly slow, difficult, and in need of an overhaul.

Using Xopus in the CMS was beneficial in two ways: it has sped up the development of the CMS as it creates a clear interface for information from the server to the CMS and vice versa. Secondly it allows non-technical users to edit the websites of these supermarket conglomerate.

Albert Heijn has developed the server-side logic of their system in house. Xopus was used to work in the client-side CMS and now enables users to edit the information on the websites much faster and with far more ease. The usability of the new system in combination with Xopus allows users of a far less technical background to understand what they are doing and to make modifications on the system. Before, their Content Management staff needed a lot more technical training in order to use the system. Now, editing Albert Heijn's five websites and all the content on them can be done far more efficiently than before.
